What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a science-based profession, which takes a ‘whole person’ approach to health and wellbeing. At its core, patients are empowered to take active approaches to their health. Physiotherapy aims to treat the root cause of your problem. If you have a medical condition that needs management, physiotherapists are experts at helping you treat and manage symptoms. Common management strategies can include exercise, education, advice, manual therapy, use of medical technologies, and much more.

Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability.  They help treatment problems including pain, weakness, instability, swelling/inflammation, stiffness, lack of confidence, and much more. The goal is to help you be happy and independent.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

What should I expect on my first physiotherapy session?

On the initial session, physiotherapists will ask questions about your problem, general health, personal background, and goals. This is followed by a physical exam, which will be tailored to the patient. Based on the things, a treatment/management plan will be agreed upon between the patient and the physiotherapist.

What do I wear?

Make sure to wear something that is comfortable and does not restrict your movement.

Do you need to know my medications?

Coming prepared with a list of medications including dose and frequency allows your physiotherapy sessions to be tailored to you. Some services provided require knowing about your medical history, such as shockwave therapy and injection therapy.

Do I need a referral?

No referrals are required in order to see Bradley. You can simply book an appointment. If you are referred, please bring any copies of paperwork.
